Most famous lake in Kilimanjaro which marks the border between Tanzania and Kenya on the Eastern edge. It’s a crater lake which is fed by groundwater flows, comes from Kilimanjaro. Depends on the time of year, it ranges in colour from deep blue to green it is surrounded by a 100 meters high crater rim. The surrounding area is real interesting because of active nature with lots of bird species, blue monkeys, baboons, colubus monkeys and the best view of mountain Kilimanjaro.

8:00 AM: Pick-Up from Moshi
Your guide will collect you from your accommodation in Moshi. Enjoy a scenic drive through the countryside as you head toward Lake Chala.
10:00 AM: Arrival at Lake Chala
Upon arrival, take in the breathtaking views of the crater lake and its surrounding landscapes. Your guide will provide a brief introduction to the area's history and ecology.
10:15 AM – 12:30 PM: Guided Hike Around the Lake
Embark on a guided hike along the crater rim. The trail offers stunning views of the lake, the surrounding savannah, and occasional glimpses of Mount Kilimanjaro. Keep an eye out for wildlife, such as baboons, monkeys, and various bird species.
12:30 PM: Lunch Break
Enjoy a packed picnic lunch in a shaded spot overlooking the lake. Relax and soak in the serene surroundings.
1:30 PM – 3:00 PM: Leisure Time by the Lake
Spend some time relaxing by the water or exploring the lakeside. You may also choose to rent a kayak (if available) and paddle across the pristine waters.
3:00 PM: Return to Moshi
Bid farewell to the peaceful Lake Chala as you begin your drive back to Moshi.
5:00 PM: Drop-Off in Moshi
Arrive at your accommodation, marking the end of your Lake Chala adventure.
